Energy Development Corp. said it remains interested in investing in geothermal power projects in Chile, even after finding two sites in that country not viable for power generation.
EDC said while it decided not to pursue the Calerias and Longavi projects, the company would pursue the best available geothermal sites in the South American country.
The company said in a statement it was planning to undertake preliminary survey work in three geothermal exploration concession areas of Newen, San Rafael and Batea in Chile.
EDC, the second-largest integrated geothermal company in the world and one of the biggest power companies in the Philippines, reaffirmed its commitment to develop geothermal resources outside the country. source
