Most people think that energy awareness equates to reducing electricity consumptions, be it by trying to minimize energy wastes or using highly efficient electrical equipment and appliances.

Reducing home energy consumption saves you money, increases energy security and decreases pollution from the use of non-renewable sources of energy.

One can install solar electric systems or small wind turbines by reducing electricity loads can be a way to go, if you’re already aware of how you can be efficient with appliances and electronics, lighting or electric space cooling and smart meters.

The Department of Energy (DoE) has resorted to strategies to achieve its energy efficiency goals.

Because energy should not only be produced and used in a manner that will promote sustainable development and utilization of the country’s natural resources, but “contribute to the country’s overall economic competitiveness and minimize negative environmental impacts.”

Aside from its aggressive promotion of energy conservation and energy efficient technology, the DoE has intensified collaboration efforts with the private sector in implementing energy efficiency programs through voluntary agreements and the continuous implementation and expansion of the appliance and equipment energy standards and labelling implementation of building energy usage standards, among other measures.

Because the burden doesn’t rely solely on end-users, it is particularly high for electric utilities.
