Aboitiz sets up exhibit explaining clean coal

THE Aboitiz Power Corporation has put up an information center inside a mall in Davao City that aims to educate people about how a "clean coal" power plant works.
"We have to educate the Dabawenyos that there is actually a clean coal, and how it works," Manuel Orig, vice president for Mindanao Affairs, said.
He said that the company is doing its best to mitigate the plant's effect to the health of Dabawenyos and the environment as well.
The one-week Aboitiz information center in SM Davao features an audio-video presentation on how a coal-fired plant operates.
Information sheets in a form of cartoon characters were also distributed to depict the reality on a coal fired plant.
Present during the opening were Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCI) chair for Agribusiness Boyet Quinto, Department of Energy (DOE) Antonio de Guzman, Chief for Science Research Specialist and among others.
Aboitiz had a similar exhibit at the Gaisano Mall, which lasted for weeks. (ANC)
