AP Renewables Inc., a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power Corp., plans to disconnect Abra Electric Cooperative on Thursday for repeated failure to settle obligations and deliver its commitments with the power generator.
AP Renewables on Jan. 10 informed Abra Electric about the termination of their power supply contract. The contract covers 8 megawatts of power for five years, starting in December 2011. AP Renewables operates the Tiwi-Makban geothermal power plants in Batangas, Laguna and Albay. It supplies 100 percent of the power needs of Abra Electric, which serves the whole province of Abra.   source
