Oil firms to hike prices at pumps

THE price of petroleum products is on the rise again following movements in the international oil market.
For the fifth consecutive week, oil firms will implement an upward price adjustment in gasoline products by P0.35 per liter.  On August 22 the price of gasoline went up by P0.20 per liter. On August 15 gasoline prices went up by P0.45 per liter. A P1-per-liter price hike in gasoline took effect on August 8. On July 25 gasoline prices went up by P0.90 per liter.
Since July 25, gasoline prices have shoot up by P2.55 per liter.
Oil firms also announced on Monday that they are raising the prices of diesel and kerosene by P0.20 per liter, respectively.
On August 22 oil firms reduced by P0.10 per liter the price of diesel and kerosene, respectively.  The price increase for gasoline, diesel and kerosene will take effect on August 29 at 6 a.m., they said in separate advisories. As of press time, only Total Philippines and Flying V have announced their price adjustments.
