‘Yellow alert’ lifted in Luzon grid

By The Manila Times on Latest Stories, Today's Breaking News

THE yellow alert declared earlier on Friday in the Luzon grid has been lifted, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said on Friday.
“As of 4:01 p.m., yellow alert has been lifted by NGCP for the Luzon grid due to sufficient generating capacity,” the grid operator said in its text advisory.
This is the fifth time the NGCP has placed the Luzon grid on yellow alert.
A yellow alert, the grid operator’s second highest alert, is declared when the reserves are less than the capacity of the biggest plant online, which is 647 megawatts (MW) for Luzon. JORDEENE B. LAGARE
