THE National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced Tuesday that the power situation in Mindanao has already normalized.
The NGCP said the power situation was normalized following "the synchronization of the three units of Pulangi, and power reserves in the Mindanao grid is currently at 111 megawatts (MW)."
The NGCP said the three units of Pulangi hydroelectric plant in Mindanao have been synchronized and connected to the power grid on Monday night.
It said the Pulangi Unit I was synchronized at 8:30 p.m. Monday, while the Pulangi Units III and II at 8:40 p.m. and 9:15 p.m., respectively. As of Tuesday, the Pulangi plant, which has a rated capacity of 255 MW, has an actual capacity of 180 MW.
The Agus hydro complex, also owned and operated by NPC-Psalm, which has a total rated capacity of 727 MW, is already generating a capacity of 452 MW.
NGCP said it has information on the available capacity, system peak and reserves in the power system although it does not own, operate or shut down power generating plants.
