Maasim, Sarangani — Sarangani Energy Corporation (SEC), developer of a 210-Megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Barangay Kamanga this town, and Daelim Industrial Co. Ltd. (Daelim), SEC’s Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor, have marked a significant milestone after recording 1 million safe man-hours without a single reportable accident or Lost Time Incident (LTI).

“This is a re-assurance of our commitment to safety by further strengthening safety culture among our workers until we complete the project,” said Daelim Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) officer Annamalai Subbiah.
The safety accomplishment was marked by a short program in which five workers and five supervisors were given “safety awards,” recognizing their “outstanding effort and commitment in achieving remarkable joint HSE milestone in the project.”
“Safety is the most important thing because it maintains continuity in business. If there are accidents in work, the business stops. If business stops, work also stops,” Subbiah added.
