Conergy to build 18-MW solar plant for Monte Solar Energy

Conergy, a leading German photovoltaic (PV) solution and service provider, is putting up an 18-megawatt peak (MWp) solar power plant in Bais, Negros Oriental.
The project was awarded to Conergy by Monte Solar Energy Inc., a joint venture between Ayala Corp.’s AC Energy Holdings Inc. and Bronzeoak Philippines Inc.
This new solar farm will occupy a land area of 213,292 square meters and will generate 24,205 megawatt hours of electricity annually based on its design.
This is sufficient power to supply the equivalent of 10,085 households in the region and save 14,838 tons of carbon emissions (CO2) every year.
Conergy will be responsible for the engineering and design, component procurement, and project management of the new plant.
The solar farm is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of next year.
Jose Maria P. Zabaleta, president of Monte Solar Energy, said their company is the latest in Bronzeoak’s development portfolio of 202 MW of solar projects now in operation or under construction.
“We are delighted to be working once again with Conergy to deliver the timely completion of this new project, which is now part of Bronzeoak’s new partnership with AC Energy,” he said.
Conergy Asia & Middle East president Alexander Lenz said this is their first project with the Ayala Group and third with Bronzeoak Philippines.

Lenz added that the new contract is a testament to Conergy’s continuing commitment to support the growth and development of solar energy in the market and to remain at the forefront of this industry’s development.

The Philippines is fast catching up with some of its Asean neighbors like Thailand in recognizing the benefits of powering the country with clean and reliable renewable energy.
With over 110 MWp of solar installations now connected to the grid and another 2.5 GW of solar projects planned, the adoption of solar energy in the country has gone mainstream.
Conergy also designed and built the 45-MW San Carlos solar plant, the country’s first solar farm that went online last year. source
