Iloilo City – The
Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) stressed it will
regularly check on the two companies operating coal-fired power plants in Panay
for environmental compliance.
“There will be strict
monitoring,” DENR Western Visayas Regional Director Jim Sampula told Manila
Bulletin.
Last November 28,
President Rodrigo Duterte led the ceremonial inauguration at Malacañang for the
135-megawatt plant of Panay Concepcion Power Corp. (PCPC) in Concepion town,
Iloilo.
