BAGUIO CITY —Parts of
Baguio City and Benguet had a 13-hour power interruption Tuesday and will have
another today, Wednesday, the Benguet Electric Cooperative (Beneco) said.
The outages will last
from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Eric de Guzman,
Consumer Welfare Officer of Beneco had said on Monday the National Grid
Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) “will do some preventive maintenance so
unfortunately our power supply is affected.”
De Guzman said 80
percent of Baguio and 90 percent of Benguet would be affected by the outdate on
April 23. He said areas not affected on the first day would experience power
cut today.
Guzman said Beneco
would check on power cables before switching power back on.
He said the scheduled
interruptions are for a maintenance check and testing of two power
transformers.
The entire city was to
be affected on April 23 except Pacdal, Mines View Park, Gibraltar, Pucsusan,
Lualhati village, Outlook Drive, Lucnab, Country Club Village, South Drive,
parts of Cabinet Hill-Teachers Camp Barangay, Happy Hallow, DPS Compound,
Greenwater Village, Military Cut-Off, Sta. Scholastica, Scout Barrio, Upper and
lower Dagsian, Hillside, Gabriella Silang, Camp 7 and 8, Poliwes, San Vicente,
Balsigan, Kias, Loakan, Bubon, Epza, Pinesville, PMA-fort-del-pilar, Atok
Trail, Springhills, Kadaclan Village, VOA, DENR Area, Parts of Navy Base and
Bakakeng Norte/Sur.
These areas would
experience an outage Wednesday.
The whole of Atok,
Buguias, Kabayan, Kapangan, Makayan, Sablan and Tublay will also be affected on
April 23.
The Tuesday
interruption was also expected to affect La Trinidad in Benguet except Beckel
and parts of Ambiong; whole of Tuba except Camp 4, 3, 1, Twin Peaks, Tabaan
Sur, and Ansagan; whole part of Bakun except Kayapa, whole of Bokod except
parts of Ambuklao and Bobok Bisal; whole of Kibungan except Tacadang. (With Hasreel Sandee Gano, OJT/PNA)
