THE Power Sector Assets and Liabilities
Management (PSALM) Corp. has issued a bid invite for the operation and
maintenance service contract (OMSC) for the Malaya Thermal Power Plant
(TPP).
The state firm said it has set aside
an approved budget of P224,800,000 for the contract as payment to the winning
bidder.
“PSALM now invites bids for the
procurement of Operation and Maintenance Service Contract for the Malaya plant.
Bides received in excess of the approved budget contract shall be automatically
rejected at bid opening,” PSALM said.
Deadline for bid submission is on
February 17. A pre-bid conference is scheduled on February 4 this year.
The contract is good for one year.
Interested bidders should have completed a contract similar to the
project. The Malaya TPP is being managed by PSALM through an OMSC.
Located in Pililla, Rizal, the Malaya TPP was designated as a must-run unit by
the Department of Energy in 2014. As an MRU, it is compelled to run and provide
the power supply as deemed necessary in order to ensure reliability of power
supply in the Luzon grid, particularly in times of supply shortfall, system
security and voltage support. In 1995, it was rehabilitated by Korea Electric
Power Corp. under a 15-year rehabilitate-operate-manage-maintain
agreement.
