The Asian Development Bank is giving a technical assistance to the government for the development of micro hydro power projects in Mindanao, a bank official said over the weekend.
“Its micro hydro, very small ones from around 25 kilowatts  up to maybe 500 kW. We identified 20 to 25 projects, but I believe that there can be many more projects. Rather than doing different sizes, it could be a good idea to identify one standard size and do a number of projects,” ADB principal energy specialist Sohail Hasnie said.
Hasnie said ADB was looking at a maximum of five projects because funding was limited to $2 million.
ADB is initially keen on developing micro hydro projects in the Caraga region.   source
