MANILA, Philippines- Listed DMCI Holdings Inc. reported on Wednesday that its power business arm DMCI Power Corp. has won the bid to operate the 25-megawatt Power Plant of Palawan Electric Cooperative (PALECO).
"The winning IPP (independent power producer) will supply the immediate and long-term power requirements of PALECO with the expanding economic development of the city. The immediate need is to fill in the 10-megawatt present demand and to provide another 15 megawatts within five years," the government said prior to the bidding.
The power plant currently has a combined energy supply of 38.7 megawatts. source
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, the Consunji-led company said it was the lowest bidder for the project with a True Cost Generation Rate of P9.38.
The government reported February this year that seven companies qualified for the project's bidding. DMCI Power Corp. bested the six other companies, namely the Delta P Power Corp., Palawan Power Generation, Inc., Primewater Infrastructure Corp., Power-One, Langogan Power Corp. and Asian Power Development."The winning IPP (independent power producer) will supply the immediate and long-term power requirements of PALECO with the expanding economic development of the city.
