THE National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced that investigation is underway to determine the root cause of the power outage that hit late Saturday in several areas in Zamboanga Peninsula.
Affected by the sudden power outage are the areas served by the Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative (Zamcelco), Zamboanga del Sur Electric Cooperative-2 (Zamsureco-2), and parts of the Zamboanga del Norte Electric Cooperative (Zaneco).
NGCP Regional Corporate Public Affairs Officer Elizabeth Ladaga said in a text message the power outage came after the substations of NagaMin, Pitogo and Sangali experienced loss of power at 10:26 p.m. Saturday.
She said that power transmission service was restored in the affected areas, after bringing power to Aurora-NagaMin 138-kilovolt (KV) Line 1 and Line 2 at 11:30 p.m. (Saturday) and 10:59 p.m., respectively.
She added that power transmission service was restored in NagaMin-Zamboanga 138-KV Line 1 and Line 2 at 11:39 p.m. and 11:08 p.m., respectively. (Bong Garcia) source
