By Philippines News Agency - November 16, 2016

The Luzon grid is back to normal on Wednesday morning, after it was placed on red alert on Tuesday evening, after three power plants went on outage on Tuesday evening.
”We are on white alert. The power plants are back on line,” Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) Spokesman Joe Zaldariagga said in a text message on Wednesday.
White alert means the situation is back to normal.
The Luzon grid was placed on red alert on Tuesday evening, after the San Gabriel, San Lorenzo and Santa Rita power plants went on forced outage.
Red alert means zero operating reserves, or there is insufficient power supply.
The power plants have a total installed capacity of 1,914 megawatt.
The distribution utility, meanwhile, scheduled power interruptions in Metro Manila on Wednesday to pave the way for repair works on its facilities. The areas include Makati City, Muntinlupa City, Pasig City and Quezon City.
Meralco is the country’s largest distribution utility, with more than 5.8 million customers in Luzon.
