Renewable energy solutions provider SN Aboitiz Power-Benguet (SNAP-Benguet) reaffirms their plant systems’ world-class status after passing the Integrated Management System (IMS) surveillance audit conducted by DQS Certification Philippines Inc. on May 5 to 8. The external surveillance audit was done remotely — a first for both SNAP-Benguet and DQS — due to the currently imposed Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).
Based on DQS’s findings, SNAP-Benguet’s Ambuklao and Binga hydroelectric power plants both qualified to retain their certificates for ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS), ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS), ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Management System and ISO 55001:2014 Asset Management System (AMS).
The auditors noted five strong areas between the Ambuklao and Binga hydros. The commendations were focused on the management’s prompt response to stakeholders in light of COVID-19, proper reporting and review of Key Performance Indicators (KPI), comprehensive documentations, the provision of more organized and accessible control systems, and emergency preparedness. The auditors also found zero non-conformity in both plants — a feat SNAP-Benguet has consistently sustained for 5 years now.
SNAP President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph Yu commended the team not only for successfully hurdling the surveillance audit, but also for the added challenge of having done the preparations and audit under ECQ conditions.
“The ISO re-certifications are a testament to SNAP’s commitment to excellence. Through world-class management systems, SNAP continues to deliver on quality service, while honing a culture and environment that foster both employee and stakeholder engagement,” Joseph said.
