CAGAYAN DE ORO -- Police have arrested three of the seven suspects in the Cagayan Electric Power and Light Company (Cepalco) heist in separate raids conducted in this city.
Senior Inspector Alfredo Ortiz, station commander of Carmen Police Station, led the operation and identified the suspects as Christopher Viña, 52, native of Tudela, and Angie Tac-an, 24, of Rizal in Jimenez, both in Misamis Occidental; as well as Roger Nabong, 34, a resident of Siayon, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.
They were apprehended in Pimentel road in Barangay Lapasan.
Arrested together with the suspects were Mark Roa Sardalla, 26, Lucky Brusodo, 30, both hail from Ozamiz City; Sophia Lim, 18, of Davao City; and Eleonor Celeza, 41, of Purok 2, Barangay Puerto. They were also taken into custody by the police as they were found in one of the raided “safe houses” in Aluba, Barangay Macasandig.
Ortiz said that Tac-an attempted to pull out his firearm, but the police were able to diffuse the situation.
Confiscated from Viña and Tac-an were caliber .45 pistol and caliber .38, including several ammunitions, plus the two XRM and Krypton motorcycles. The caliber .38 matched with the gun the suspects took away from the Cepalco security guard.
Nabong was arrested after Tac-an and Viña.
The police said bullets of a caliber .22 pistol were found in the purse of Celeza, who was among those arrested in a “safe house” in Aluba.
“I was surprised that they found bullets in my purse. I do not know who put it there. I fell asleep in the house,” Celeza told police. She also denied ownership over a firearm.
Sardalla was positively identified by victims of a robbery of an establishment along Macapagal Road, while Lim denied her participation in any robbery incident. source
