RENEWABLE ENERGY developer Sta. Clara Power Corp. is looking for buyers of electricity generated by its 1.2-megawatt (MW) hydro power plant in Bohol starting next year.
In a public notice yesterday, Sta. Clara said it “seeks to supply electric power to interested electric distribution utilities, electric cooperatives, retail electricity suppliers, and industrial loads eligible for bulk power supply commencing on Feb. 26, 2014.”
Sta. Clara Power owns and operates the 1.2-MW Loboc hydro power plant in Bohol. The notice said electricity dispatched in the last five years averaged 8.085 million kilowatt-hours a year.
Sta. Clara Power also plans to build an 8-MW hydro power plant in the municipality of Naujan in Oriental Mindoro that will source water requirements from Catuiran River. Other renewable energy projects in the pipeline include a 9-MW “mini” hydro power project in Danao, Bohol. -- CAMCF source
