THE National Grid Corp. of the Philippines said six provinces will experience power outages on Thursday because of scheduled maintenance works.
To be affected are areas in Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao, Isabela, Sorsogon, Aklan and Samar.
In Samar, the power outage is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., which will last for 45 minutes.
This is due to the maintenance along the 69kV Samar Electric Cooperative (Samelco) II-Catbalogan line.
Interruptions will be for isolation in the morning and normalization in the afternoon, the NGCP said.
In Nueva Vizcaya and Ifugao, the interruption will start from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
The Nueva Vizcaya and Ifugao are connected to NGCP’s 5MVA transformer at the Lagawe Substation.
Lilibeth Gaydowen, Northern Luzon corporate communications and public affairs officer, said the power interruption will affect the franchise area in Nueva Vizcaya and the towns of Lamut, Lagawe, Kiangan, Asipulo, Banawe, Hingyon, Hungduan, Mayoyao and Tinoc in Ifugao.
Isabela will also experience power interruption in the towns of Santo Tomas, Delfin Albano, Cabagan, San Pablo and Santa Maria covered by the Isabela Electric Cooperative II –Cabagan Substation. The power interruption will give way to the relocation of a bypass line inside the NGCP’s Tuguegarao Substation as part of the substation’s expansion.
In Aklan, the outage is from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. due to the scheduled shutdown of the 69kV Nabas-Avon-Caticlan line. This is to facilitate installation of selected line hardware.
In Sorsogon, the power interruption is from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to facilitate the correction of oil leak at Daraga 50MVA transformer, hotspot correction and replacement of poles and line hardware.
This will affect the Daraga-Sorsogon-Irosin 69kV Transmission Line.
The NGCP gave assurances that normal operations will resume after completion of maintenance works. The public is advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for the power interruption. source
