Tacloban City, Leyte –
The three Samar provinces and parts of Leyte will be affected by a scheduled
13-hour power supply interruption from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, February 26.

National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) Eastern Visayas regional
corporate communication and public affairs officer said that the 13-hour
blackout, which will affect parts of Leyte province, along with Eastern Samar,
Northern Samar and Samar, was scheduled to give way to necessary maintenance of
power lines and other equipment.
Ligaspina said that the
electric power subscribers of Leyte II Electric Cooperative (LEYECO II), based
in this city, and two adjacent municipalities of Palo and Babatngon, will be
affected by the power interruption.
She also said
that clients of NORSAMELCO, ESAMELCO SAMELCO I and SAMELCO II in the three
Samar provinces will likewise be affected by the power supply interruption.
