Listed Aboitiz Power Corp. (AboitizPower) has remitted P14 million to the Davao City government as the latter’s share in hosting the former’s power plants. In a statement, AboitizPower said it remitted the amount through subsidiaries Hedcor Inc. and Therma South, Inc. to aid the city government in its efforts to combat the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. The Aboitiz-led power company has been showing support for its beneficiaries as local government units across the country continue to deal with the health crisis. About half a billion worth of the Department of Energy’s Energy Regulations 1-94 funds are available for AboitizPower’s host LGUs nationwide for their Covid-19 response efforts. These funds are intended to finance electrification, livelihood and development projects. Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio thanked AboitizPower for providing additional resources. AboitizPower shares rose by 45 centavos or 1.66 percent to end at P27.50 each on Wednesday.
