OIL COMPANIES are raising the prices
of gasoline and diesel this week, while keeping the cost of kerosene unchanged.
Gasoline will increase by P0.15 per liter (/L), while diesel will rise by
P0.25/L. The price adjustment will take place at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14.
Last week, the prices of gasoline and diesel were both cut by P0.10/L, while
the price of kerosene was reduced by P0.25/L. The increase reflects the
movement of prices in the international market, the companies said. Meanwhile,
PTT Philippines Corp. said it is supporting the government’s “Pantawid Pasada Program”
with about 30 of its gasolie stations in Luzon and the Visayas opening a fuel
discount lane for public utility vehicles, especially public utility jeepneys.
The company said some of its stations offer as much as P2.50/L discount. — Victor
