DMCI declared sole bidder for Mindoro power plant project

 (The Philippine Star)

MANILA, Philippines - The Oriental Mindoro Electric Cooperative Inc. (Ormeco) has declared DMCI Power Corp. as the lone qualified bidder for the contract to construct, operate and maintain a 15-megawatt bunker-fired diesel power plant in Calapan, Mindoro, DMCI said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange yesterday.
Ormeco commenced a competitive selection process for the facility last month with the aim of providing reliable and sustainable power supply in the province.
“DMCI Power Corp. was declared as the lone qualified bidder, subject to the results of the post-qualification evaluation. Ormeco shall award the construction, operation and maintenance of the 15-MW bunker-fired diesel power plant, and the corresponding electricity supply contract (ESA), after the post-qualification evaluation,” DMCI said in its disclosure.
Based on the evaluation by the Ormeco special bids and awards committee (SBAC), headed Luzmin Biason as chairperson, three companies participated in the process.
These are Sta. Clara Power Corp. Mindoro Grid Corp. and DMCI Power.
However, only DMCI was declared as a qualified bidder after an evaluation of its documentary submissions.

Sta. Clara Power Corp. and Mindoro Grid moved for reconsideration of their disqualification and the parties were directed to submit separate position papers formalizing their objections and motions, DMCI said in its disclosure.
The SBAC has yet to formally declare who the winner is.
DMCI Power is the power unit of the Consunji Group’s DMCI Holdings Inc.
DMCI Holdings, through DMCI Power, has various power projects and investments.
It is the company behind the Calaca power plant in Batangas, which the company is looking to expand in two phases, with each phase capable of generating 300 MW.
This would bring the total capacity of the Calaca plant to 1,200 MW, officials earlier said.   source
