Renewable energy producer Alternergy Partners Corp. is teaming up with Korea East West Power, a unit of state-owned Korea Electric Power Co., to build two more wind energy projects in Laguna and Mindoro Occidental.
Alternergy Parners executive vice president Knud Hedeager told reporters during an event hosted by Carbonergy Business Consultancy Services the new projects were on their early development stage.
“We’re measuring. We’re still in the early stage of development, in getting the endorsements. We have the endorsements but there’s still a lot of work to be done,” Hedeager said.
The new wind farm projects include a 50-megawatt facility in Cavinti, Laguna and a 40-MW station in Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro.
“Our initial target for every project would be around 30 MW to 40 MW. But as it turned out in Pililla and Sembrano, it can also be bigger. It depends on the actual location,” Hedeager said.
He said similar to wind projects in Pililla and Mabitac, Alternergy would develop the two new projects in partnership with EWP.
“We have a platform where we’re developing the projects. EWP is our partner to that. And on a project-to-project basis, we can decide if there should be partners or whatever. And we’re not there yet on the other projects,” Hedeager said.
Alternergy on Tuesday held the groundbreaking ceremony for its 67.5-MW wind power project in Pililla, Rizal, which is estimated to cost P10 billion.   source
