Parts of N. Luzon still experiencing power outages—report

MANILA, Philippines – Several provinces in Northern Luzon continue to experience power outages after the strong winds of Typhoon “Juan” (international codename: Megi) cut through power lines, according to a report on Radyo Inquirer.
Some of these are Cagayan, Kalinga, Apayao, Northern Isabela, the Mountain Province, parts of Benguet, Ilocos Norte, la Union, Nueva Ecija, Aurora, parts of Tuguegarao, the report said, quoting the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines.
The report also said that power was restored in some parts of Northern Luzon, which was hard-hit by “Juan”, considered by the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) as the strongest to hit the country this year.
Up to 10 people were reportedly killed and thousands evacuated due to floods caused by “Juan.”
