Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), the main cooking fuel of Filipino households, will be cut by P5 per kilogram or P55 for the standard 11-kilogram tank.
Eastern Petroleum Corporation said it will reduce the price of its EC Gas starting 6 a.m. of December 1. Other players in the LPG sector are expected to follow.
Based on the monitoring of the Department of Energy (DOE), the pick-up price for EC LPG prior to this adjustment is from P754 to P785 per cylinder depending on where the LPG commodity is being retailed.
For major oil player Petron Corporation, it is from P685 to P695 per tank for its Gasul brand as of the last adjustment in November.
The price of Solane LPG of Isla Gas is from P697 to P705 per tank before this recent price reduction.
For Phoenix Petroleum, the retail cost of its LPG brand’s pre-December adjustment is from P650 to P685 per tank; while Liguigaz’ price range is from P630 to P689 per cylinder.
Price competition as well as brand quality and scale of services are among the key considerations of customers in patronizing an LPG brand.
